DO NOT BE WEARY IN WELL DOING

READING: Proverbs 11:16-31

Yesterday, we saw the evil in working deceit for gain. Today we read in verse 18 that the wicked works a deceitful work, but that the person who sows righteousness is guaranteed a
reward. This seems to encourage the righteous not to work a deceitful work. It tells those who continue in well-doing that they will ultimately receive a sure, certain, guaranteed reward
from God.

When the wicked do a deceitful work, because they are not caught or exposed, they think that they have got away with it. Not so with the righteous God. The wicked shall surely
be punished since their deceitful work is an abomination to God. We sow righteousness when we obey the requirements or commandments of God. That is why the Bible enjoins us
in Gal. 6:9 not to be weary in well doing, since we shall reap in due season, if we faint not. Verse 31 of our text for today concludes it so beautifully for us: “Behold, the righteous shall be
recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner”
(KJV). The righteous should always bear in mind that an unfailing reward shall surely come to them one day. The promise of God to reward the righteous shall certainly come to pass. Alleluia!

PRAYER: 0 Lord, help me to always bear in mind that an unfailing reward will surely come to me if I remain righteous
