READING: Luke 3:23-38
Luke the physician in tracing the genealogy of Jesus Christ, went beyond Abraharn and got to Adam the first man created by God. He traced the genealogy to Adam the progenitor of the human race, to show that Jesus did not come for only the Jews, but for all mankind in the whole world. John 1:11-12 states that Jesus came to his own people but his people did not receive him; but as many as received him to them he gave the power to become the children of God. This means that the door to become a child of God is open to every body. In Christianity, there is no discrimination between the Jews and gentiles, white and black, male and female, educated and uneducated, literate and illiterate, rich and poor. The qualification to become a child of God is to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
