PREPARING FOR THE FINAL HARVEST

“For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the spirit will of the spirit reap everlasting life.” Galatians 6: 8

Those who make something else the object of their faith, rather than the cross, which means they are now depending on self-will, but he who sows to the spirit does so by trusting exclusively in Christ and what Christ did at the life everlasting. God’s prescribed order of victory. The great blessing of eternal life is not something that we take for granted. Alongside the promise of eternal life. There is the warning against losing out of this great blessing.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit has ushered in the time of harvest. The saved are being gathered in as men and women are won for Christ. During this time of harvest, we blow the trumpets of worship, rejoicing in the Lord Numbers 29: 1 and alarm calling on men and women to pay attention to the word of the Lord Joel 2: 1. By blowing the trumpets for God, we prepare the way for the final trumpet “the trumpet of God” 1 Corinthians 15: 52. We must get ready and we must encourage others to get ready for Christ’s return as we recognise that we are living in the last days, there are some things that as the body of Christ, we need to do. We cannot sit around passively in church, thinking that Jesus will come back for His bride that has been complacent and stagnant. “Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted and were scattered like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples the harvest truly is plentiful but the labourers are few. Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest, that He will send out labourers into His harvest” Matthew 9: 35 – 38.

Jesus is saying there are few workers or few people to reap the harvest or reach souls. We usually equate that with people or churches that are evangelizing and getting people saved. That is true, we need that, however, we do not just need people or churches to go and evangelize, there is something more that Jesus is saying here. We must honour God with our lives. God wants to restore His honour in all the earth. Honouring the Lord will change the atmosphere around the world. If every church in the world went outside their four walls and reached 100 people and brought them to Church and they got saved, would that be enough? When people come to our church, do they find a place where Jesus is a priority and where an atmosphere of honour toward the Lord has been created? If they find this, they too will turn their hearts to the Lord and honour Him. This is the harvest that God wants.

As believers, our righteous acts are walking in unity as a body, giving our tithes and offerings, serving, worshiping and praising God, knowing and living the word of God, honour and reverence to the Lord and putting God first. We do not have to be a perfect church, but it is important for us to honour God and put our faith in Him. As we respond, He will continue to change us and bring in the harvest. We must understand the times we are living in and the urgency of the hour. God must come first and be a priority in our lives.

The great blessings of eternal life is not something that we can take for granted. Alongside the promise of eternal life, there is the warning against losing out on this great blessing. Bring “the first fruits of your harvest” Leviticus 23: 9. What can I give God – my heart. What are you doing to keep men out of Hell? Are you having any success? Proverbs 11:30. God’s plan is that His people bear the good news to a dying planet. Our job is the greatest the world has ever known. If we can reach but one for God, then we have altered eternity for someone and acquire the smile of God ourselves. Psalm 126: 5 – 6. Perhaps you need to come before the Lord and confess to him that you have not witnessed as you should have. Perhaps there is a name on your heart that lays there like a lead weight, bring it to Him. Time is short the labourers are few and the harvest is plentiful and ready. Are you doing your part? As we prepare for God’s harvest, we must create an atmosphere of honour to the Lord at church and in our lives. When we get this, we will not only reap the harvest but we will do
the right thing in God’s eyes not only by getting people saved but also by teaching the people to honour the Lord and make Him a priority.

Have a wonderful and glorious week as you get ready for the final harvest.
